This collection of articles would be great to use in a junior classroom Social Studies unit. This curation lists tasks that also integrate well with Visual Arts, Science: Habitats and Language Arts.
Scoop.it allows a teacher to find news articles related to any topic of your choice. You create a topic then "curate" articles related to it. You are able to add notes or "insights" at the bottom of each article. You can then share your curation by e-mail as a newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
In this instance, I gave students ten articles to choose from, with one task to complete associated with the article of their choice.
Scoop.it is very easy to use and a great tool for teachers who want their students to conduct online research in a safe environment.
